SAITS Vision & Mission
The South African Institute for Traumatic Stress (SAITS) has been operating since the 18th of May 2000, offering ongoing research-based training and development to mental health practitioners in the field of traumatic stress.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build expertise and capacity for the delivery of effective and appropriate traumatic stress services towards a healthy and peaceful South Africa for all
Our Mission
We aim to strengthen civil society and sustain democracy in South Africa through advancing appropriate, effective and integrated traumatic stress services to victims of violence and other vulnerable groups. We will achieve this through the provision of capacity building programs for civil society and government which are based on relevant theory, research and local practice; and through proactive advocacy work in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
